Featuring

Junkyard Scientists

Junkyard Scientists have unearthed the perfect floor-filling equation. Seriously one of the best bands I’ve had on the show.

Junkyard Scientists are a soul, funk, rock & hip-hop inspired outfit like nothing else around. Formed in Reading and London in 2007, the Junkyard sound is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Jamiroquai.

The group started out by running their own independent live music residency at FairTrade venue; The Global Cafe, and went on to release their self-titled, 7 track debut EP at Zavvi Megastore in Reading with an in-store launch gig. Since then they have gone on to support acts like Portico Quartet, Ash, Get Cape.Wear Cape, Fly and James Taylor Quartet as well as play respected venues like The Camden Jazz Cafe, The Troubadour and Concorde 2. Air play by BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson along with live performances on BBC Radio Berkshire has seen the popularity of the 'Junkyard Scientists EP' grow and the band are recording new material this year.
